Owatonna Market Buzz
There's still plenty of good news regarding mortgage interest rates as they remain low and stable. It looks like a positive time for buyers to think about moving. It's been a good time for buyers to find terrific values for homes in Owatonna.
Here are the statistics for Owatonna's market YTD as of 12/06/2011:
Sold 258 homes at an average sale price of $123,051 within an average market time of 124 days. Houses are selling for an average of 96.25 percent of the last list price and 90.83 percent of the original list price.
We have 135 homes on the market - which is way down from our typical inventory levels. Many sellers have chosen to take their homes off the market until buyer activity increases. The average price of our current inventory is $163,442 which as you can see, is quite a bit higher than the homes that have been selling. The active listings have been on the market for an average of 176 days.
Now's a great time for buyers to purchase - taking advantage of prices, desirable interest rates, and so many terrific homes to choose from.
Our lot inventory is plentiful with 289 lots currently available at an average list price of $42,975. We're fortunate to have many nice areas for building to choose from.

Lynn's Personal Info
My husband, Greg, and I have been a part of the Owatonna community since 1986. During that time I've found that Owatonna is a wonderful place to live, work, play, and raise a family. We are very fortunate to have terrific schools, plenty of recreation available through our parks, and a quality of life that can't easily be duplicated.
I've been involved with a variety of different community organizations, and I think you'll find that there is something available for every interest. I currently serve on the Steele County United Way Board and am part of the Community Investment process. As a member of the Owatonna Ambassadors I have the chance to meet other business owners and managers who live and work in our area, and I've served on the Owatonna Chamber Board of Directors. I've also enjoyed volunteering as a Sunday school teacher at Associated Church, a school site mentor with Big Brothers/Big Sisters, and have also served on their local board of directors. In addition, I have a strong interest in personal financial management and have participated through Steele County Extension as a credit consultant to families in need of assistance.
As a parent of two children (now young adults) I was involved as the Vice President of Wilson School's PTA, Vice President of the Owatonna Girl's Hockey Association, Owatonna Blue Line Club committees and a volunteer parent mentor working with the Owatonna Exchange Center. As an active volunteer it's been such a reward to meet so many people who are committed to making a positive difference in lives of the people within our community.
